PD blower Competitor® Plus™roots type pd blower include special features usually found only on a premium pd blower -- and at very competitive prices. They are interchangeable with most Roots Universal RAI® and many Sutorbilt®  models, and are compatible with most existing dimensions. Competitor Plus blowers are rated up to 15 PSIG (1.03 bar g) discharge pressure or 16" Hg (540 mbar g) dry vacuum.

Equalizer blowers include special features usually found only on premium blowers, at great prices. They are are medium duty, compact blowers in 4.5 inch (115 mm) and 6" (150 mm) gear diameters, and are designed to be interchangeable with competitive brands such as Roots RCS and certain DuroFlow® models.

P.D Plus® is the long established line of premium heavy duty models ranging from 3.25" (82.5 mm) to 12" (305 mm) and 2.5" (63.5 mm) to 48" (1220 mm) rotor length. These blowers are known for  quality, dependability and outstanding performance record.

Positive Displacement Blowers and Vacuum Pumps
Acousticair (Low-noise)  blowers are designed for pressure or vacuum applications. They are engineered with built-in silencing chambers to reduce noise up to 20 dB(A).  Units are available in flows up to 1900 CFM (3230 m³/h) with pressures to 15 PSIG (1.03 bar g) or dry vacuums to 15" Hg (508 mbar g). Acousticair blowers are also interchangeable with some P.D Plus models and Roots RCS-J sizes.

The Power Equation You Get More!

The best measure of performance is power.

This is because most system units use a centrifugal pump and ones not a  P.D.  A Positive Displacement machine uses more energy and pulls harder the more the hose is filled with material; a P.D. vac pump attempts to maintain the same air volume and will draw higher amperage to maintain air flow as the system load increases. 

For example, with 50 ft. of 2" I.D. hose connected to the 15 Hp unit, the system will develop about 5" Hg. and draw about 9A (assuming 460V operation).  When the system begins to draw material, the vacuum increases and the amperage draw increases as the vacuum pump attempts to maintain the same air flow.  The system vacuum will continue to increase as the material load increases right up to its maximum vacuum potential (12" Hg), at which point the motor will draw 18A. The difference between 5" Hg. (9A) and 12" Hg. (18A) is the unit’s potential to do work.

In general, a P.D. powered system can be conservatively sized at 2.5 - 3.5 cfm/lb of material, whereas a centrifugal needs 5 - 7 cfm/lb of material, and it is not forgiving of plugging.  A centrifugal unit draws its maximum energy when NO material is in the system and plugs easily without operator training.
